The Tanzania Forest Conservation Group (TFCG) is a national NGO whose mission is to reduce poverty in rural communities and to conserve the biodiversity of globally important forests in Tanzania for the benefit of the present and future generations. As part of these projects, TFCG is seeking applications from qualified Tanzanian women/men for the following position:

Project Officer- Community-Based Forest Management (CBFM) based in Handeni, Tanga. (1 Position)

TFCG is implementing the Integrated Forest and Biomass Energy Solutions for Tanzania (IFBEST).

The project officer is responsible for introducing the project and building the capacity of LGA staff on CBFM, VLUM, and sustainable wood fuel production and governance, integrating issues of gender, climate change and forest regeneration. Facilitate LGAs to support communities in developing new or reviewing existing village land use and village forest reserve management plans and by-laws, including VLFR gazettement for existing reserves.
